About Us

Our Approach

about education for living

Our focus is on a field of study known as “Ontological Design.” Ontological education combines linguistics, philosophy, and biology in order for us to better understand human communication and the way people actually behave. The underlying reason people behave the way they do comes from the intersection of their moods and emotions, language and communication, and physical body. We call this the way of being.

Our ontological coaches are experts, skilled in observing human language and belief systems. Individuals can see different possibilities and create new ways of being for themselves. Our coaches provide a hands-on, experiential educational atmosphere where true breakthroughs can and do occur. This is a type of education that isn’t taught in schools – although we think it should be.

Our courses are about educating you to become aware of your own use of language, the moods you live in and your automatic way of being . By better understanding your language, moods and beliefs you will live, communicate and work more effectively.

Education for Living Seminars, Inc. was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1985 and today, the company remains dedicated to innovation in ontological education.

Stephanie Chandler EFL

Stephanie Chandler, CEO/Trainer

"I found out there was nothing wrong with me, I just needed to learn something new."

Stephanie discovered Education for Living in 2005. After attending her first workshop, she knew she had found her home. She quickly got more involved in the organization, staffed events and became a trainer. She has mentored under master ontological coaches since 2010. Stephanie's gratitude for the changes that Education for Living helped make in her life made her, together with Jill, want to buy the business in 2013 so she could ensure that this training is available to everyone who needs it.

Jill Simpson EFL

Jill Simpson, Chief Operations Officer

"Education for Living taught me how to see relationships in a new way, and that the difficult relationships in my life could be different if I just changed my own attitude."

Jill discovered Education for Living in 2010, when she did her first workshop. She jumped into the organization in 2011, helping to staff events and keeping things organized behind the scenes so all of the courses go off without a hitch. Jill is a huge supporter of everyone involved with Education for Living. Like Stephanie, she does Education for Living because she wants to make sure people have access to ontological learning so that they too can improve their lives.
